MSS Support Office-Communications Section Director-Fort Lauderdale, USA

Location: These positions are located in Fort Lauderdale, USA. The MSS Support Office is the mission support for the UN Security Council-sanctioned mission to Haiti. This office is staffed by international staff and led by the US State Department. 

 Anticipated start date: August 2024

Duration: 8 months, with possibility of extension.

Overall Qualifications/experience: Candidates should have:
  • Prior experience in multilateral peacekeeping operations.
  • Familiarity with international protocols, conflict resolution, and crisis management.
  • Expertise in financial management within multinational organizations is desirable, including budget planning, allocation, and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with trust funds administration is advantageous.
  • Understanding of the dynamics of working in diverse, collaborative environments
  • Fluency in English and French, with Creole highly desirable.
  • Other relevant experiences within the respective areas of expertise.
Expected tasks and deliverables:
Communications Section Director: 
•    Oversee communication efforts between donor countries, the MSS and the Haitian government.
•    Develop and implement strategic communication plans to enhance collaboration and understanding.
•    Foster positive relationships with local communities/stakeholders.
•    Ensure effective communication channels to address concerns and promote transparency.
•    Provide consistent and accurate messaging across all stakeholders.
•    Align communication strategies with mission objectives.
