Background

The current deterioration in Ukraine is already having a devastating impact on people who are facing internal and external displacement, among a range of acute humanitarian protection and assistance needs. An OCHA
corporate emergency was declared on 26 February.


Main tasks and duties to be executed

Further to the escalation of the crisis in Ukraine in February 2022, OCHA is seeking to deploy an Information Management Officer, for 6 months, with remote onboarding. This is a Cash IMO profile: Coordination:
•        Contribute to the information management network with humanitarian partners to facilitate
humanitarian information exchange and the promotion of data and information standards.
•    Support the cash Working Group with the provision of cash-specific information management processes and products
•        Engage with IM Officers of other UN agencies and organizations to ensure delivery of solid
situational analysis.
•    Provide expert training on the use and development of information management tools to humanitarian members.
Data Management
•    Design, develop and manage databases, spreadsheets and other data tools; understand, document, and ensure the quality of high-value humanitarian data for accuracy, consistency and comparability;
•        Consolidate operational information on a regular schedule to support rapid response analysis.
•    Support Multi Sectorial Assessment and needs analysis activities, including humanitarian needs overviews, secondary data reviews, preliminary scenario definitions and multi-cluster initial rapid assessments; provide advice on assessment design to ensure data quality; manage platforms and tools that support data collection and analysis.
Visualization
•    Produce and update information products such as reports, charts and infographics by turning data into graphical products to convey messages and a storyline; develop advocacy materials including presentations and other visual materials. Produce and update map products and online services.

Expected outcome of the deployment:
•        IM coordination provided in support of inter-cluster coordination
•        Assessments are supported
•        IM products are reviewed, updated and improved.
•        Basic IM training is delivered to strengthen humanitarian partners engaged in the response.

Specific required skills:
•        Experience with IM Coordination, Data management, Visualization (Adobe and PowerBI)
•        Experience with Cash coordination and IM support to a Cash Working Group
•        IM experience in a humanitarian emergency is required.
•        Ability to travel in remote field locations often in challenging work environments
•        Solid communication and people skills
•        Capacity to train others
•        Creativity to find solutions to IM problems.
•    Ability to plan and organize both at an individual level and to organize offices and humanitarian partners.
•        Knowledge of Russian required, Ukrainian highly desirable for this position.
