Main tasks and duties to be executed (specify precisely in a maximum of 10 bullet points):
     Support inter-sector coordinating to ensure the work of individual sectors compliment one another and work to strengthen overall cluster performance.
 Provide direct support to the NDMA and to other Government entities supporting flood-affected areas in
Sindh and other Provinces as requested
     Facilitate situation analysis and prioritization processes of humanitarian interventions, draft documents as needed, ensure appropriate monitoring and reporting mechanisms, including producing situation reports, supplementary response plans and other documents.
     Support and advise the RC in their role as UN Humanitarian Coordinator (HC) in emergency preparedness and response management in close coordination with the PDMAs/NDMA and ensure a coordinated support for international humanitarian actions.
 Support the monitoring and implementation of the response plan
     Establish and maintain contacts with government officials, other UN agencies, non-governmental organizations, donors, diplomatic missions, media, etc.; ensure appropriate mechanisms to facilitate collaboration and exchange of information both in and outside the UN system,
Expected outcome of the deployment (detail in bullet point form the anticipated achievements and added value expected from the deployment):

     Humanitarian coordination activities in line with the flood response plan are implemented effectively and jointly with the NDMA and other local Government actors
 National sectors/clusters are properly coordinated for an effective integrated response.
 High quality internal and external documents are drafted, produced and disseminated promptly


Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in political science, social science, public administration, international studies, economics, engineering, earth sciences or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian affairs, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, rehabilitation, disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, development, or other related area.

Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required, fluency in Urdu is preferred.
