MSS Support Office-Strategic Communications Specialist-Fort Lauderdale, USA

Location: These positions are located in Fort Lauderdale, USA. The MSS Support Office is the mission support for the UN Security Council-sanctioned mission to Haiti. This office is staffed by international staff and led by the US State Department. 

 Anticipated start date: August 2024

Duration: 8 months, with possibility of extension.

Overall Qualifications/experience: Candidates should have:
  • Prior experience in multilateral peacekeeping operations.
  • Familiarity with international protocols, conflict resolution, and crisis management.
  • Expertise in financial management within multinational organizations is desirable, including budget planning, allocation, and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with trust funds administration is advantageous.
  • Understanding of the dynamics of working in diverse, collaborative environments
  • Fluency in English and French, with Creole highly desirable.
  • Other relevant experiences within the respective areas of expertise.
Expected tasks and deliverables:
 Strategic Communications Specialist: 
•    Collaborate with the MSS HQ Strategic Communications section to develop a comprehensive communication plan.
•    Define key messages, target audiences, and communication channels.
•    Counter Misinformation and Disinformation/ Work with U.S. government communications professionals to create products that counter false narratives about the MSS mission.
•    Ensure accurate information dissemination to combat misinformation.
•    Organize public relations events and engagements. Foster positive relationships with stakeholders and the public.
•    Synchronized Messaging: Ensure consistent and coordinated messaging across platforms.
•    Align communication efforts with mission goals.
