CANADEM - Deployment Officer

Overview
CANADEM is seeking a motivated Deployment Officer to join our team. This role offers a strong introduction to how international experts support individuals and communities around the world, with hands‑on experience across our operational work. The Deployment Officer will support CANADEM’s programs in Haiti and around the world.

CANADEM is an NGO committed to rostering and mobilizing the right experts and empowering them to enhance the impact of global assistance operations. The main pillar of our work is a roster of over 70,000 screened experts skilled in various aspects of elections, humanitarian operations and development work. Duties:
The Deployment Officer will support the deployment of experts for CANADEM’s Haiti projects, election programs and deployments for other programs as needed.
  • Liaison and providing support with consultants to be deployed and when deployed.
  • Liaison as required with government departments and international agencies.
  • Assisting with the contracting process.
  • Deployment coordination/procurement (flights, insurance, equipment, visas, etc.).
  • Collection of CANADEM consultant documents .
  • Receiving, reviewing and forwarding invoice timesheets, expense reports and other financial documents to CANADEM’s Financial Division on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in preparing reporting documents for funders (e.g. gathering statistics). 
  • Ongoing awareness of program requirements and progress.
  • Assist with program outreach and social media.
  • Other tasks may be assigned in consultation as per the supervisor's discretion.

Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree or other relevant degrees combined with professional expertise.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ work experience in an NGO, government department, multilateral organization, or other relevant organization.
  • Fluency in English and French.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Able to deal with a fast-paced, deadline driven, ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy and maintain confidentiality in dealing with sensitive employee and consultant data.
  • Strong and demonstrated attention to detail is required.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Suite (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and etc.).
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills across diverse audiences
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and work within tight deadlines. 
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • International experience is desirable.


Contract Details:

Contract length: 1 year (with possible extension)
Remuneration:  58,000-61,000CAD yearly  
Full time (with probationary period)

Leave entitlement: 4 weeks of annual leave, and personal leave.
Benefits: Comprehensive health benefits after probationary period
Hybrid work model:   Minimum one day of attendance in the office required (Wednesday), with flexibility to work remotely when in-person attendance is not necessary.
