*Note: The mission is renewed on an annual basis. It was recently renewed in late September 2024, so we cannot guarantee the mission will be renewed beyond September 2025. It likely will, but we can't say with 100% certainty. 


The MSS Support Office is the mission support for the UN Security Council-sanctioned mission to Haiti. This office is staffed by international personnel and led by the US State Department. 


Overall Qualifications/Experience:

Tasks:

• The Deputy Operations Director works on all activities within the Operations section of the MSSO. Responsibilities include coordinating and managing operational tasks, ensuring efficiency, and maintaining high standards.
• Regularly compose and distribute situation reports (sitreps) to relevant stakeholders. These reports summarize operational developments, incidents, and critical information.
• Ensure 24/7 emergency watch coverage for the MSS and Force Commander. Monitor critical situations, respond to emergencies, and coordinate necessary actions.
• Provide strategic guidance and decision-making support to enhance operational effectiveness. Maintain situational awareness and adapt strategies as needed

Qualifications/experience:

1. Multilateral Peacekeeping Experience:
o Prior experience in multilateral peacekeeping operations.
o Familiarity with international protocols, conflict resolution, and crisis management.
o Understanding the dynamics of working in diverse, collaborative environments is crucial.


2. Language Proficiency (Creole/French/English):

o Fluency in Creole, French, and English is highly desirable.
o Effective communication in these languages is essential for interacting with stakeholders.
