Position Title: Sexual and Reproductive in Emergencies Specialist

Sexual and Reproductive Health in Emergencies (SRHiE) specialist (P3/4 level), fully fluent in Spanish, for a period of 3 months, with demonstrated experience in humanitarian responses in South America, preferably with prior UNFPA experience and strong expertise in coordinating and delivering life-saving SRH interventions in complex emergency settings.

Key Activities:

  1. Provide strategic and technical leadership for the implementation of UNFPA’s Sexual and Reproductive Health in Emergencies (SRHiE) response in areas affected by the earthquakes.
  2. Support the rapid assessment and analysis of SRH needs, service availability, and gaps, with a particular focus on women, adolescents, pregnant women, and other vulnerable populations.
  3. Ensure the timely implementation of the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for Sexual and Reproductive Health and support the transition towards comprehensive SRH services as the response evolves.
  4. Coordinate closely with national and local health authorities, UN agencies, humanitarian partners, and relevant coordination mechanisms to strengthen SRH preparedness, response, and recovery efforts.
  5. Provide technical guidance and capacity strengthening to UNFPA staff, implementing partners, and frontline health personnel on SRHiE standards, protocols, and best practices.
  6. Oversee the planning, deployment, and monitoring of reproductive health supplies, including emergency reproductive health kits, and support supply chain coordination to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
  7. Contribute to resource mobilization efforts, donor reporting, situation reports, response plans, and other strategic documents related to the humanitarian response.
  8. Ensure the integration of gender, protection, accountability to affected populations (AAP), and prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) considerations across all SRH interventions and coordination processes

For this reason, we adhere to all policies, procedures and training of the United Nations on The Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH). CANADEM mandates all deployees successfully complete the PSEA online course. This e-learning course is composed of a set of lessons designed to raise awareness about SEAH, become familiar with a range of measures to combat SEAH, understand the impact on victims and the consequences for UN Personnel who commit Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment.
