BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
In the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, Jamaica is undertaking a coordinated humanitarian response to address the immediate needs of affected populations. As part of this response, Cash-Based Transfers (CBT) are being prioritized within a broader Shock-Responsive Social Protection (SRSP) framework. The Cash Working Group (CWG), co-chaired by the World Food Programme (WFP) and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MLSS), plays a critical role in ensuring effective coordination, harmonization, and strategic guidance for cash assistance interventions across partners.

To strengthen the CWG’s capacity during this critical period, a CWG Support Officer will be deployed on surge to provide technical and coordination support to the CWG chairs. The officer will contribute to the effective functioning of the CWG by supporting information management, partner engagement, and operational planning, with a particular focus on market functionality and CBT feasibility assessments.


ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:


1.  Support coordination efforts by preparing and disseminating meeting agendas, minutes, and tracking action points.
2.  Produce regular reports, including situation updates, dashboards, and analytical
summaries to inform strategic and operational decision-making.
3.  Maintain CWG tools and repositories, including the 4Ws, contact lists, and shared folders to ensure up-to-date and accessible information.
4.  Document lessons learned and good practices from CWG activities and partner experiences to inform future responses.
5.  Liaise with Information Management (IM) focal points from other sectors to
ensure coherence and data sharing across coordination platforms.
6.  Support the CWG Coordinator in organizing meetings, partner engagement activities, and following up on agreed action points.
7.  Support market functionality and CBT feasibility assessments, contributing to evidence-based decision-making for cash programming.



Deliverables:


The CWG Support Officer is expected to deliver the following outputs during the assignment:
•   Timely and well-structured meeting agendas, minutes, and action point trackers.
•   Bi-weekly or monthly CWG situation reports and analytical dashboards.
•   A repository of CWG documents and tools maintained and organized for partner access.
•   Summary report of market functionality and CBT feasibility assessments.
•   
Documentation of lessons learned and good practices to inform future SRSP and
CBT responses.
•   Final handover note summarizing key activities, achievements, and recommendations for continuity.

This e-learning course is composed of a set of lessons designed to raise awareness about SEAH, become familiar with a range of measures to combat SEAH, understand the impact on victims and the consequences for UN Personnel who commit Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment.
