CANADEM-Deployment Programme Officer

CANADEM provides rostering services in the areas of international humanitarian, peace and security operations, serving UN agencies and various governments and international non-government organizations.


We are looking for a dynamic full time Deployment Programme Officer for our expanded HQ team. The Programme Officer will work with other Roster and Deployment team members to recruit, deploy and support experts in humanitarian settings.

Applicants must be Canadian citizens or have residency status with eligibility to work.

Duties:
  • Actively engage in the operations of the Deployment Unit in deploying CANADEM consultants and associates to the field including but not limited to:
    • Liaison and providing support with consultants to be deployed and when deployed.
    • Liaison as required with government departments and international agencies.
    • Contract writing in consultation with the Roster and Financial Divisions.
    • Deployment coordination/procurement (flights, insurance, equipment, visas, etc.).
    • Collection of CANADEM consultant documents and reports (mid-mission, end-of-mission follow up, performance evaluation reports, etc.).
    • Receiving, reviewing and forwarding invoice timesheets, expense reports and other financial documents to CANADEM’s Financial Division, and completion of other post-mission administrative tasks.
  • Assist in writing project proposals and reporting documents (e.g. gathering statistics). 
  • Monitoring budgets in consultation with the Financial Division.
  • Ongoing awareness of project requirements and progress.
  • Other tasks may be assigned in consultation as per the supervisor's discretion.

Qualifications:
  • Flexible and adaptable - able to deal with a fast-paced, deadline driven, ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy and maintain confidentiality in dealing with sensitive employee and consultant data.
  • Strong and demonstrated attention to detail is required.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Suite. Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills across diverse audiences
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and work within tight deadlines. 
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Post-secondary degree or other relevant degrees combined with professional expertise.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ work experience in an NGO, government department, multilateral organization, or other relevant organization.
  • Fluency in English. French is considered an asset.

CANADEM offers:
  • Salary 57,000-60,000 CAD yearly
