BACKGROUND
Afghanistan remains a protracted crisis country and coupled with the August 2021 take over by the Taliban, which added to layers of humanitarian needs and concerns requiring swift response Given that 24 4million people requires some form of humanitarian assistance and The Child Protection Area of Responsibilities (CP AOR) has 5million people in need of which 2 4million are children experiencing various forms of violence, abuse, exploitation, and neglect, it's imperative for the CPAOR to have a fully functional coordination and leadership function mcluding information management CPAOR is strengthening ts capacities to respond to the protracted crIsIs and IM support ts needed to enhance information management for efficient and effective response PURPOSE
The purpose of this deployment is to support the capacity in Information Management for needs identification,
monitoring, and analysis as well as response monitoring and analysis in Afghanistan The overall objective of this assignment is to provide support to the national CPAOR and to members of the CPAOR to perform and comply with data and formation responsibilities as defined by the humanitarian reform In response to humanitarian crisis And to provide IM support to sub-national levels which are being strengthened
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
The support to be provided to the national CPAOR will be defined as to mmprove overall information production, analysis and documentation of needs and reporting In collaboration with the CP AOR Coordinator and Co• coordinators/ Sub national coordinators, Protection cluster IMO, Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), as well as CP AOR members is essential to the process Key responsibilities at national and sub• national levels might include
Work with CPAOR members to identify information gaps at national and regional levels and to propose ways to bridge such gaps (seasonal prioritizations and HPC processes to start- HNO, HRP)
Provide support to the national IMO (under recruitment) and subnational coordination with IM capacities (secondary data review, DEEP, data cleaning and processing, data analysis (Report Hub, Protection Analysis Update and FTS), infographics and mapping, situation, and response monitoring, etc )
• Support the implementation of the NIAF within CP AOR by providing the adequate IM tools and services mapping
Assist In the implementation of standardized CP IM tools, data systems and information products and assist partners to use existing data collection tools, reporting tools e g , monthly Report hub
• Maintain a database of all profiles of CP AOR partners and an up-to-date contact hist
• Improve CPAOR visibility by contributing to regular update of existing child protection data/information products in existing online platforms, such as the Humanitarian response website, Afghanistan protection cluster, Global CP AoR website, etc
Respond to other CP information management needs for the CPAOR identified by the coordinators and team members
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the area of IM, geographical information system, assessments and/or M&E with either the UN and/or NGO
• Advanced university degree in Information management or formation systems, GIS Information technologies, social sciences, statistics, or related fields is required
Fluency in English (verbal and written) Knowledge of Afghanistan context Is an asset
Statistical and analytical skills using MS Excel, QGis or other mapping tools (essential), knowledge MS Access, other database applications (eg SQL, MySQL, Oracle) is an advantage
Experience working in the context of a natural disaster, armed conflict or complex emergency Is highly desirable
