The Position:
The information management officer (IMO) post sits within the external relations unit of the humanitarian response division. Under the overall supervision of the Head, External Relations Unit, the IMO will report directly to the Global Information Management Specialist.

Job Purpose:

The overall purpose of the Humanitarian Response Division (HRD) is to facilitate the delivery of the UNFPA mandate by leading emergency response and supporting humanitarian preparedness actions in increasingly complex humanitarian situations, within globally agreed frameworks (2030 Agenda, Grand Bargain Commitments, Sendai Framework, etc.). The HRD leads in leveraging and increasing effectiveness, efficiency, and capacity of UNFPA staff and partners to scale up UNFPA's role as a key global humanitarian leader. Through the Inter-Agency Standing Committee for Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance (IASC) and other associated entities, HRD acts as a point of convergence
on humanitarian activities, including policy, coordination, programming, advocacy, field capacity development, resource mobilization, innovation, partnerships, technical guidance and,
crucially, thematic integration, ensuring complementarity between humanitarian and development action within the organization.

HRD advocates among humanitarian agencies to include sexual and reproductive health and rights needs and sexual and gender-based violence prevention and response needs and humanitarian concerns and specific needs of women, adolescents and young people into the overall humanitarian preparedness and response frameworks. The HRD facilitates the development of UNFPA capacities to prepare and respond to the emergencies and to ensure the Agency is well equipped to deal with the context of fragility and disaster risk reduction.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Information Management Officer will support the Global Information Management Specialist in implementing information management and quality assurance activities related to UNFPA's Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) coordination and programme responsibilities. The incumbent will support the day-to-day management of humanitarian information, including coordinating data collection and validation, maintaining databases and reporting systems, producing analytical and visualization products, and responding to information requests as needed. The position will contribute to strengthening data quality, consistency, and the effective use of evidence to support humanitarian coordination, programme delivery, preparedness, advocacy, and corporate reporting.

Key duties include:
 

●    Support the cleaning, and analysis of humanitarian programme data related to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV), ensuring data quality and consistency with UNFPA's humanitarian core indicators for the Humanitarian Action Overview (HAO).
●    Support information management functions underpinning UNFPA's Provider of Last Resort (PoLR) responsibilities for GBV, including data collection, analysis, visualization, and reporting to inform global and country-level GBV coordination, service delivery, preparedness, and response planning, as needed.
●    Support the information management needs of SRH programming and coordination as needed.
●    Develop and maintain information management products to support humanitarian decision-making, including surveys, interactive and static dashboards, maps, infographics, and analytical reports.


Any other duties:
●   Performs any other duties as may be directed by the Global IM or the Head of External
Relations Unit

Deliverables
●   Support the cleaning of HAO result and appeal data
●    Support the data collection and analysis of the internal and external survey for the humanitarian strategy
●   Support the capacity Mapping Survey for GBV and SRH

Qualifications and Experience: Education

●    Advanced   university   degree   in   social   science,   economics,   statistics,   programming, geo-mapping, or other related field with a focus on skills relevant to information management and/or data management.

Knowledge and Experience

●    Minimum five years professional and substantive experience in information management and/or data management.
●    Advanced  technical  knowledge  in  developing dashboards (power bi or similar), creating
ArcGIS maps, and using Pivot tables (Excel) for data analysis,
●    Experience and skills in operational / service mapping desired
●    Experience with spatial analysis desired
●    Demonstrated experience and knowledge of producing charts and tables in excel is required
●    Demonstrated ability to produce high quality infographics required
●    Knowledge of and experience with the HPC cycle required
●    Previous experience with UNFPA is required.
●    Experience in humanitarian response required.
●    Strong analytical and strategic thinking and a commitment to results.
●    Ability to organize work effectively and to meet planned deadlines.
